With its solid financial backing, strong management and a deep expertise of the country, Teka has been an essential part in helping companies introduce their products in the Turkish market and reach their revenue objectives. We are committed to introduce and market “best of breed” pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products and are eager to partner with companies that have innovative products and technologies in this field thereby helping to improve the local healthcare system.
Background:
Founded in 1971 by Karlo Milovic, the company’s initial purpose was to serve the local pharmaceutical industry with the supply of raw materials and intermediary products. With a solid financial backing, Teka quickly engaged in financing local companies and rapidly branched off into several other businesses supplying chemical products for the textile, leather and food industry as well.
In the 1980, the company added the eye-care division to its line of business. Partnering first with Bausch & Lomb and later with Wesley&Jessen as well as Luxottica, Teka became the sole distributor of contact lenses as well as sunglasses (e.g., Ray Ban, Armani, Persol etc.) for the Turkish market. Always maintaining a market share of above 60% in both product lines, Teka handed over the businesses to the locally established affiliates of Bausch & Lomb in 1995 and Novartis in 1999 (Novartis bought Wesley & Jessen and integrated it into its Ciba Vision branch).
Over the last 30 years, Teka has developed a deep expertise in the pharmaceutical market. Having worked for companies like Sandoz, Roche, Bayer, Pfizer, Eczacibasi, its management has a combined experience of more than 100 years working in this industry. As a result, Teka has extensive relations with the local pharmaceutical authorities as well as the key industry players.
